The 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Lt models include the new 17-inch diamond cut cast aluminum wheels with a chrome finish. All models have the latest version of GM’s OnStar Communication system which provides both digital and analog coverage along with hands-free voice recognition facilities. These models were developed over 2000 – 2005 and have gone through a series of modifications. As far the engine is concerned, the basic model of 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo follows the Impala model and has a 3.4 liter V6 engine with 180 horsepower along with a four-speed automatic transmission.
All the 2005 models have four-wheel-disc brakes, automatic head lamps and dual-zone air conditioning. All trim levels have been realigned to accommodate the LS, LT, and Supercharged SS models. All three models measure 197.9 inches in overall length with a 110.5-inch wheelbase. They have 17-inch wheels as against other models that have 16-inch wheels with options for a chrome finish. The LT model has a 3.8 liter V6 engine with the ability to bring out 200 horsepower and 280 pounds-feet of torque. The SS model included a supercharged engine option of 240 horsepower for improved performance and production of the earlier SS model continued after being renamed as LT. This model promised firmer suspension.
The Supercharged SS model has a six-instrument dashboard cluster including a supercharger boost gauge. The vehicle has thicker stabilizer bars and stiffer spring rates compared to earlier Monte Carlo models.
Overall, the 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo model comes across as a roomy coupe with a standard split 60/40 rear seatback that folds down to supplement the trunk. The trunk has a capacity of 15.8 cubic feet.
